Information about the series

The potential Second Series of Secret Genius for Channel 4, where Alan Carr and Susie Dent invite people from all walks of life who suspect that they might be highly intelligent will be invited to take part in a series of dynamic and immersive intelligence-testing games, so that they can discover their true potential.

The selected participants will take part in a series of heats and may progress to the finals where one lucky person will lift the Secret Genius trophy!

Secret Genius is made by Mothership Productions and GroupM Motion Entertainment in collaboration with Mensa UK.

Why are we making this series?

According to Mensa UK, hundreds of thousands of people may be going about their daily lives, unaware of just how intelligent they are.

Why you or someone you know might apply?

You suspect you are highly intelligent but have never had that formally recognised.

Perhaps someone else in your life has always told you that you are clever.

You may have always found certain things – puzzles/ following complex instructions/ directions etc – easier than those around you but never understood why.

You may feel that your natural abilities were misunderstood or overlooked at school or in your working life.

You may feel people dismiss your input when they shouldn’t.

You are curious to find out more about your potential brain power.

Filming commitment

Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend a set of one-to-one meetings in London on ONE date around May 2026. These meetings are essential to be considered for the series.

If invited to take part in the series, you will be required for up to 8 days’ filming July and August, 2026, depending on how far you go in the competition. This may be subject to change, but we will give you notice.

All pre-agreed travel expenses will be covered by Mothership Productions for the meetings and filming periods.

Mothership Productions will put in place appropriate access support for the meetings and filming.

Closing date

The closing date for applications is 23:59 on 01.06.26 Mothership Productions reserves the right to extend the closing date without notice.

All applicants will receive a final email notifying them of the status of their application within a reasonable period following the application closing date.
